La Nef
LA NEF is a banking cooperative financing both the social and ecological transition since 1988. They believe change is possible and only finance projects with ecological, social or cultural added value – Veja, Ethiquable, Biocoop all started there. Sectors financed include the organic sector, renewable energies, social entrepreneurship, soft mobility, ethical fashion, fair trade, etc. When it comes to transparency, La NEF holds itself to a high standard as it is the only financial institution in France publishing the full list of projects financed with savers’ money.
Last but not least, LA NEF distinguishes itself by its democratic governance. It belongs solely to its members, professionals and individuals, borrowers and savers, which elect each year the members of the supervisory board, which in turn appoints the management board, responsible for managing the company.
